The Vimeo app is compatible with 4th and 5th generation (4K) Apple TV devices running the most recent version of tvOS. Older devices (2nd and 3rd generation) with the Vimeo app pre-installed are no longer supported.
To install the app, search for “Vimeo” in the App Store. Follow these instructions to log into your account.
Viewers can discover new videos from the Feed, watch the latest curated Staff Picks, and explore Categories.
Additionally, you can play videos uploaded to your account, view Channels that you manage and follow, play videos from your Watch Later queue, and watch content in your Vimeo On Demand library.
Search and Content Viewing Preferences
The Apple TV app will respect your content viewing preferences while logged into your account. If you have set your preferences to hide certain content, those videos will be omitted from parts of the app, or displayed with a generic thumbnail; this includes videos on your own account. To update your content viewing preferences, visit your account settings page on the web.
If you use the Apple TV app without logging into your account, only content rated “All Audiences” will appear. Unrated content and videos marked “Mature” will be omitted or will display a generic thumbnail.
Q: When viewing my videos on the Apple TV App, the quality is a bit choppy. Is this device-related? How should I troubleshoot?
A: It may be device-related. You will need to make sure you have the correct settings. The users should follow the below steps on their Apple TV to ensure the correct settings.
- In tvOS go to "Settings“
- Select "Video and Audio"
- Once done, go to "Match Content“ and
- Switch "Match Frame Rate“ to "On“
Once this setting is done, every video – no matter if 25, 29, 30, 50, or 60 fps – would play right without any stutters!
