Watch and Search
Your Feed, Staff Picks, On Demand Purchases, and Watch Later queue are all accessible from the Watch tab of the app.
Users, channels, and videos public on vimeo.com can be searched for and played using the app. If you have access to another user’s password-protected or unlisted video, they can be played in the app when opened from a link on the web or when the video is saved to your Watch Later queue.
Spending time on the subway, on an airplane, or somewhere with limited internet access? You can save videos to an offline playlist and watch those videos when no internet connection is available. Any video that can be played back in the app can be saved to the offline playlist.
To save a video to your offline playlist, tap the icon in the upper right corner while the video is playing, or select Add to offline playlist from the [•••] menu.
To access the offline playlist, tap the Watch tab, scroll down to Library, and tap Offline. Videos saved to the offline playlist can only be played within the Vimeo app and cannot be exported or played in other apps.
Content viewing preferences
The Vimeo app will respect your content viewing preferences while logged into your account. If you have set your preferences to hide certain content, those videos will be omitted from parts of the app, or displayed with a generic thumbnail; this includes videos on your own account.
To update your content viewing preferences within the app, tap your profile picture at the top corner of the app, then tap Account settings > Viewing preferences.
If you use the app without logging into an account, only content rated “All Audiences” will appear. Unrated content and videos marked “Mature” will be omitted or will display a generic thumbnail.
360/VR video playback
Videos marked 360 can be played and explored using the app. Learn more about watching 360 videos here.
Live event playback and chat
Viewers can watch your in-progress Vimeo Live event and participate in chat.
