The Vimeo app on Zoom gives you the opportunity to back up your Zoom cloud recordings directly to your Vimeo account—no more downloading to your computer, then logging in to Vimeo to upload. Once your recording is on Vimeo, you’ll have access to our video player, collaboration tools, customizable privacy, and embed settings, and much more.
How to install the app
In order to be able to set up the Vimeo app on Zoom, you’ll need to have an account on Vimeo and have Recording permissions on your Zoom account. If you do not have Recording permissions enabled, contact the Owner of your Zoom Account.
Go through the setup flow, accept the terms, and then you’ll see the installation confirmation page. After installation success, you’ll land on your Zoom Recordings Folder.
Once installed, you’ll be able to select Record to the cloud on your Zoom meeting. This cloud recording will transcode and upload to your connected Vimeo account after your meeting recording ends. After your video finishes transcoding, it will appear in the Zoom Recordings Folder in your video manager on Vimeo, where you’ll be able to access all our tools for sharing and collaboration.
Note: If you are a team member on an Enterprise account, your recordings will upload to your Private to Me folder by default. You can then edit any settings on it before moving it to another folder on the account as desired.
All videos uploaded from Zoom will have the default privacy of “Only me,” though you’ll be able to change that if you wish to. Here’s an overview of our privacy settings, and the different customization options you can select.
How to uninstall the app
Before uninstalling, be mindful that per Zoom's data retention policy, your auto-uploaded Zoom recordings will automatically be deleted from your account within 10 days of uninstallation. To avoid this, you should either keep the app installed, download your videos before they are deleted, or opt out of data deletion when uninstalling (detailed below).
First, go to https://marketplace.zoom.us/. At the top right, make sure you are logged in. Once you are logged in, click on Manage at the top right. On the left-hand side menu, click on Installed Apps. Find the Vimeo app, then click Uninstall.
Next, go to your Vimeo account. Hover over your avatar icon to open up the dropdown menu. Scroll down and click Settings. Then on the left-hand side menu, find and click Connected Apps. You should see Zoom under Connected Apps. Go ahead and click Uninstall.
You will see the following warning window. If you do not want us to delete your Zoom recordings from your account but still want to proceed with uninstallation, you will need to check the box next to Grant App developer consent to retain data. If you don't check this but want to keep your videos, you will need to download them.
