The Vimeo app on Zoom gives you the opportunity to back up your Zoom cloud recordings directly to your Vimeo account—no more downloading to your computer, then logging in to Vimeo to upload. Once your recording is on Vimeo, you’ll have access to our video player, collaboration tools, customizable privacy, and embed settings, and much more.
Note: If you delete a video that is stored both in Zoom and Vimeo in one location (e.g. Zoom), it will NOT simultaneously be deleted in the other location (e.g. Vimeo). This goes both ways.
How to install the app?
In order to be able to set up the Vimeo app on Zoom, you’ll need to have an account on Vimeo and have Recording permissions on your Zoom account. If you do not have Recording permissions enabled, contact the Owner of your Zoom Account.
Go through the setup flow, accept the terms, and then you’ll see the installation confirmation page. After installation success, you’ll land on your Zoom Recordings Folder.
Once installed, you’ll be able to select Record to the cloud on your Zoom meeting. This cloud recording will transcode and upload to your connected Vimeo account after your meeting recording ends. After your video finishes transcoding, it will appear in the Zoom Recordings Folder in your video manager on Vimeo, where you’ll be able to access all our tools for sharing and collaboration.
Note: If you are a team member on an Enterprise account, your recordings will upload to your Private to Me folder by default. You can then edit any settings on it before moving it to another folder on the account as desired. If you are a team member on a non-Enterprise account, your recordings will upload to your personal account, rather than your team account.
All videos uploaded from Zoom will have the default privacy of “Only me,” though you’ll be able to change that if you wish to. Here’s an overview of our privacy settings, and the different customization options you can select.
How to get an "umbrella/multiple" Zoom account linked to Vimeo accounts?
From zoom's perspective, each account is separate. Master account's purpose is payments and possible SSO. Otherwise, every member should have an account of their own on Zoom. Therefore, installing the Zoom to Vimeo app will also tie one Zoom account to one Vimeo account, each of them having their own Zoom Recordings folder.
It's not plausible to link multiple Zoom accounts into one Vimeo ID though. The app can only be installed in a one-to-one ratio. There's a way to congregate all of them within one team account on Vimeo, which requires Enterprise access, Video library, and 'Private to Me' enabled. Then Zoom Recordings folder will be created in the 'Private to Me' section and be easily transferred across the main account.
