Being prompted to upgrade when saving a Create video
While Vimeo Create is available to all Vimeo members, there are certain features that can be accessed only with specific membership tiers. Those features include accessing our stock library, brand kit, hiding the Vimeo watermark, etc. Learn more.
When using a feature that is not included in your subscription, you will be prompted to either upgrade your account or continue working on your video and upgrade later.
I was blocked from saving my video. What should I do next?
The most frequently used features that may have caused the inability to save your video are:
- Stock footage: Available for Standard members and higher or Pro members and higher.
- Styles selection: Styles that are marked as Upgrade are available to Standard members and higher or Pro members and higher.
In order to amend your video so you may download or share it, either go back to the editing stage and remove/replace this feature on your video or upgrade to use it in your video and in future projects.
Error message: "You started this purchase on another device"
Currently, cross-platform purchases are not available on Vimeo. That means, for example, that if you purchased a membership on the Vimeo website using a desktop browser, and then switched to the Vimeo Create mobile app to create your videos and wish to upgrade your account, you would need to go back to the website in order to purchase the upgrade.
If you attempt to upgrade your account on a different platform, you'll see an error message saying “You started this purchase on another device. Please continue on that device," instead.
A device, in this context, refers to the website (regardless of the operating system or the browser) OR the Vimeo Create app on Android OR the Vimeo Create app on iOS.
Do I have to continue working on my video on the device I made the upgrade on?
No; the creation/editing process can be done on either one of our platforms. Once the upgrade is complete, you can switch back to the device you were using to create your video.
