When you make or upload a video, it will automatically select a frame from your video to use as a thumbnail image. You can change the thumbnail for your video on the video settings page after your video has been uploaded and optimized.

How to add a new thumbnail to your video
- Navigate to the Library and select the video that you would like to change the thumbnail for.
- Scroll under the video player to the Thumbnail section.
- Here, you can select a pre-selected thumbnail, upload a custom thumbnail, or select a thumbnail from the video.
- If selecting a thumbnail from the video, play your video in the video player. When you see a frame you'd like to use as a thumbnail, select the Select this frame button in the top-left corner of the video player.
- After uploading or selecting a frame, select the newly generated thumbnail from the list of thumbnails to set as your video's new thumbnail image. The selected frame will move to the front of the list to indicate that it is the new thumbnail.
How to select a thumbnail
After adding or uploading a thumbnail for your video, you can select the thumbnail that you would like to use for your video from the list of thumbnails.
The thumbnail you select will move to the front of the list with a thin blue outline, indicating that it is the current thumbnail for the video.
How to download or delete a thumbnail from your video
After adding a thumbnail, you can choose to download or delete it from the video settings page. You may also download the default thumbnail.
- Scroll down to the Thumbnail section on the video settings page.
- Hover over a thumbnail image and then select the options menu (...) in the upper lefthand corner.
- Select Download or Delete.
Note: The first thumbnail cannot be deleted. On it, the menu will have the Download option only.
💡Tip:
- Supported filetypes for uploaded thumbnail images include JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and PNG.
- While GIF files are supported, animated GIF files are not supported at this time.

Custom thumbnails uploaded undergo a slight compression when uploaded. For best results, we recommend uploading an image with the same dimensions as your video.
- Example: If your video's dimensions are 1280x720, we recommend uploading an image that is 1280px x 720px.
