Prerequisites
Users must be an Admin or Contributor, and must have can manage or can edit access to the Folder, to set up Slack notifications. Vimeo’s Slack integration is supported for folders housed in the Library and a user’s Personal Space if configured on your account (Private to Me or My Videos).
How to configure my Slack integration
- Navigate to your Library or Personal Space (Private to Me or My Videos).
- Hover over a folder and select the options menu (⋯) to the right or navigate to the (⋯) from within the folder.
- Select Connect to Slack from the dropdown menu.
- A modal will appear prompting you to connect the folder to Slack. Select Connect to continue.
-
On the next step, you will see a modal that includes (1) granting Vimeo’s slack app with the appropriate permissions to send data from your Vimeo account to your Slack workspace (2) selecting the Slack Channel where you would like to receive notifications. Both steps are required for the connection to be valid. Once you have selected the Slack Channel, please click Allow to authorize the connection.
-
Once connected, you can choose which type of updates get pushed to Slack and in what language.
- Once configured, click Save to preserve your configuration.
-
You can manage the Slack connection for each folder after its initial configuration by selecting Slack settings from the folder options menu. These options include changing the Slack channel, modifying the notifications that are linked to Slack, or disconnecting it entirely.
Additional information
