The analytics panel in your video's edit page shows you the most important analytics for your video from the past 30 days, helping you track performance and see how viewers are engaging with your videos.

How to open the analytics panel
You can open the analytics panel for any of your videos from your video's edit page by clicking the Analytics button on the right side of the page.
The analytics panel will open from the right. To navigate to your full Advanced Analytics dashboard from the analytics panel, click Advanced report.
Overview of the analytics panel
Under Overall, you will see the following all-time figures for your video:
- Views: The number of times your video started “playing”. Counts the number of sessions in which a person has hit the play button on a video or the video auto-played.
- Average % watched - The average of the duration of the video watched within a session divided by the total length of the video, across all sessions. Here's an example scenario:
- Your video's duration is 60 seconds
- Session 1 - a user watches 20 seconds
- Session 2 - a user watches 30 seconds
- Session 3 - a user watches 40 seconds
- The Average % watched calculation formula would be: (20+30+40)/(60 + 60 + 60)
- This makes the video's average % watched: 50%
- Your video's duration is 60 seconds
If your video is an archived live event (Premium and higher), you will see a Live section in your video analytics panel. The metrics in this section reflect viewership of your event when the stream was actively live.
- Views: The number of times the live video started playing.
- Peak viewers: The highest number of concurrent viewers during the stream.
- Avg time watched: The average duration a viewer stayed on the live event.
- Total time watched: The cumulative duration.
The next section of the analytics panel is Video, which provides the following metrics about your video’s viewership from the last 30 days:
- Views: The number of times the video started playing (in the last 30 days).
- Impressions: The number of times your video was "loaded" on a Vimeo clip page or on a website it's embedded on.
- View rate: The rate at which a video is played after it is loaded on a clip page or embedded site.
The last section of the panel is the Interaction section, which is available for members of the Business plan and higher. The metrics in this section allow you to track the performance of various interaction tools on your video, including:
- Contact forms
- Impressions: How many times the contact form screen was displayed
- Submissions: How many times an email address was submitted
- Rate: The number of submissions divided by the number of impressions
- Impressions: How many times all cards on your video that included a link were displayed
- Clicks: How many times any of the cards on your video that included a link were clicked
- Rate: Number of clicks divided by the number of impressions
- Call to action (CTA)
- Impressions: How many times the CTA end screen was displayed
- Clicks: How many times one of the links in your CTA end screen was clicked, with a breakdown of clicks for the primary button and secondary link
- Rate: All clicks divided by impressions

Understanding your view rate
The view rate for your video is simply your views divided by your impressions. We count an impression every time the Vimeo player loads your video, either on vimeo.com or embedded, and we count a view every time someone hits the play button on your video.
If you’re only sharing your video with a select group of people (for example, a wedding video sent to friends and family), it’s likely that your view rate will be relatively high, because your video is only exposed to people who have a strong interest in watching it.
If, however, your video gains a lot of exposure (for example, through being Staff Picked or embedded on a popular site), it will rack up a ton of impressions, which may dilute your view rate significantly. Please note that we don’t display the view rate for your videos publicly.
Loading and understanding your engagement graph
If you are a Pro member or higher, you can access an engagement graph of your video by going to the Analytics section of your Advanced video settings.
The engagement graph shows you what percentage of viewers made it to specific points in your video by recording the maximum timestamp Vimeo was able to detect for each viewer within a single browser session.
Vimeo provides second-by-second reporting on every viewer session. You can see this data by hovering your cursor over the graph.
