If you joined Vimeo using the Sign in with Apple feature, you will need to set a password for your Vimeo account before you can perform any actions on the site that require a Vimeo password, such as deleting videos, deleting your account, or signing in from different devices. This step is required to ensure that you'll be able to maintain access to your Vimeo account separately from your Apple ID in the future. Once you set a password, you won't need to be logged into your Apple ID in order to use any Vimeo feature.
To set a password, please go to your account settings and then click "Password" on the left sidebar. Once there, click on the “Change Password” link. There, you will be prompted to enter in a new password and confirm that new password.
Hide My Email for Sign in with Apple
When initially joining Vimeo via the Sign in with Apple feature, you can choose to share your email address with Vimeo, or keep it private. If you choose the “Hide My Email” option when joining, we will only have a unique and randomized email address provided by Apple.
For example, if you usually log into your Apple ID with your personal email address j.appleseed@icloud.com, if you choose to hide your email from Vimeo the email address logged on our end might look like t4p86np0thx1138@privaterelay.appleid.com. In this case, Vimeo will never have awareness of your personal email address.
If you choose to hide your email on signup, ALL emails we send to you will be addressed to the assigned private relay email address, and then forwarded to your personal email address. These emails may include critical notifications, such as invoices, renewal notices, forgotten password/account access messages, and email support, among other email messages from Vimeo.
If you turn off email forwarding or change your private relay email address without first updating your email address on Vimeo, you may lose access to your Vimeo account without any way of recovery.
To update the email address used to log into your Vimeo account, please go to your account settings, and click “Account” on the left-hand side. From there, click “Edit” next to your private relay email address.
