What is a subscription downgrade?

Subscription downgrading is a process that allows you to have a seamless transition from your current subscription into a lower tier of paid service when your renewal date arrives.

Scheduling a downgrade is an option for users who have had their service needs change and want to ensure that they don't encounter a lapse in their subscription.

How do I downgrade my subscription to another paid tier?

If you would like to schedule a downgrade to another paid tier of service, please reach out to Support via our contact form so that we can schedule it for you. Please note that downgrades cannot be scheduled within 24 hours of your renewal.

It is not possible to schedule a downgrade to another paid tier of service through your own Account Settings page, so please reach out to us for assistance. 

Below you’ll find a breakdown of how your access to certain features and storage would change with a downgrade from one paid subscription tier to a lower paid tier. If you are looking to downgrade from a paid membership to the free Basic tier, you can learn more here.

Advanced	Standard	Video uploads and creations: 240 videos per seat per year reduced to 120 videos per seat per year. No virtual events or webinars. No marketing integrations. Connecting to apps such as Constant Contact, Hubspot, Mailchimp, Heap, and Campaign Monitor require an Advanced plan. Lose access to live chat support.

Access to sell your videos on Vimeo On Demand is limited to Pro and higher. No customizable portfolios, showcases, or chapters. Selection of Vimeo Create video templates is reduced, and you will lose access to stock assets. No ability get a direct link your video file for third-party players.
Business	Pro	Video storage: 5TB total storage would reduce to a 20GB per week upload quota (learn more). Team Collaboration: 10 seats reduced to 3 seats. Marketing tools and integrations are not available on Pro; more on those tools here.  Access to our Creator Marketplace, where you can find professional video creators to help make your next video, is not included in Pro.   Ability to add your branding to Vimeo Create videos is limited to Business and above.
Premium	Business	Video storage: Up to 7TB total storage is reduced to 5TB storage (learn more). Lose access to live chat support. Lose access to all virtual event and livestreaming features

How do I downgrade my account to the free Basic tier?

Downgrading your subscription to our Basic tier does not require you to reach out to Support. You can do this by canceling your account.

Please note that once your account lapses to Basic, your account will be subject to our lapse rules as outlined here. 

Can I downgrade my subscription early and receive a refund?

Downgrades can only be scheduled to occur on your account's next renewal date, which you can view on the Membership Plan page.

Please check our refunds article to confirm if you are eligible for a refund. If your purchase is eligible for a refund, you may request it through our contact form.
