If you have an Enterprise account, you can take advantage of advanced folder management features, including folder-specific permissions and Folder Admins.
When an account Contributor on an Enterprise account is added to a folder as a part of a group that only has Viewer access, the Contributor will likewise only have viewing permissions to that folder unless they are also given Contributor access to the folder as an individual.
However, if they are added to a folder as part of a group that has Contributor access, they will then have editing permissions.
⚠️Note: If you add a Contributor to a folder that has subfolders, the team member will also have access to the contents of the subfolders.
Team owners and admins can appoint contributors to be the Folder Admins of specific folders in the team account. To appoint someone as a folder admin, follow these steps:
- From the video manager, select the folder.
- Open the folder share modal in the upper right section of the folder page.
- Either type in a new team member's name and set their permission as Folder admin, then click Send invite, or...
- Alternatively, find an existing team member on the folder and click their role to open the dropdown menu. The role change will ave automatically.
Assigning a Contributor to the role of Folder Admin will grant the team member permission to delete any videos within the folder from the team account, as well as permission to invite other team members to the folder.
A Contributor can be assigned to the Folder Admin role in the main folder or in a subfolder. When a Contributor is assigned as a Folder Admin in a top-level folder, they will also have admin permissions in all of the subfolders that live within that folder. But when a Contributor is assigned as a Folder Admin in a subfolder, they will only have admin permissions in that particular subfolder.
